Renouf Farms Ltd.'s berry orchard was started in 2017 and is currently a 30 acre orchard adjacent to the farm northwest of Melfort, Saskatchewan. The focus is on Haskaps – the second highest berry in the world for antioxidants and more vitamin C per 100grams than the average orange! Haskaps are considered a super fruit in the food industry and knowledgeable customers are looking for its health benefits. They are much higher in vitamins and nutrients than the blueberry and taste like a combination of a blueberry and a raspberry but with a lot more flavor or zing. The orchard also grows Saskatoon berries, sea buckhorns, raspberries and chokecherries. The orchard is truly farm to fork as they sustainably produce, harvest, process and deliver (to retail and wholesale customers) a variety of jams and jellies, puree and syrups, pie fillings, pies, berries (fresh and frozen) and now also have freeze dried haskap berries and powder.
