Western Alfalfa Milling Co. Ltd. (WAMCO) is a world leader in the production of certified organic alfalfa pellets for organic fertilizer, soil amendments, and animal feed. Their fertilizer, Alfalfa Green, will contribute to the lushness of lawns, golf courses, municipal green spaces and landscaping, abundance in vegetable gardens, flower beds, even indoor plants all year round. Their product is used in reclamation projects to increase soil aeration, moisture retention, organic matter, and de-compact clay soils to improve re-vegetation success after industrial use. On the remediation side, Alfalfa Green is used to boost microbe levels and to facilitate hydrocarbon breakdown through a bioremediation process. Alfalfa Green can also be used for feed for virtually any livestock or poultry ration to enhance yolk coloration, and the product is a great source of bypass protein in ruminant diets. Certifications include Canada Organic Regime (COR), European Union (EU), United States National Organic Program (NOP).

The Western Canadian Short Line Railway Association is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization representing the interest of 16 short line railways across Western Canada. The Associate provides government relations, communications, business development and networking services. While present in all Western provinces, Saskatchewan has the most extensive network of short line rail. Saskatchewan short lines own and/or operate 24% of Saskatchewan's 8722 kms of track and are present in 18% of urban municipalities and 26% of the province's rural municipalities. The railways employ 183 residents and have a combined expense budget of over $31 million dollars. Short lines build industry capacity to promote Western Canada's agricultural and resource exports, servicing approximately 6,000 producer cars per year and transporting resources and agricultural products from 75 businesses that are built directly on short line railways.

Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is the federal department responsible for economic development and diversification in the West. WD promotes the competiveness of the western Canadian economy and advances the interests of the West in national economic policy. WD partners with provincial governments, municipalities, universities, local businesses and community organizations to encourage growth and innovation in the four western provinces. The Western Innovation (WINN) Initiative is designed to move new and innovative technologies from late-stage research and development to the marketplace. A $100 million five-year initiative offering repayable contributions for eligible western Canadian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), WINN supports a wide range of commercialization activities. The Western Diversification Program invests in projects that support WD's activities of innovation, business development, community economic development, and policy, advocacy and coordination. WD supports the Western Canada Business Service Network, which includes offices of Community Futures, the Women's Enterprise Initiative, Francophone Economic Development Organizations and Canada Business service centres. Each of these organizations provides services to assist new and existing entrepreneurs in cities and rural communities to start and grow their businesses. WD works with the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) to help Saskatchewan businesses compete internationally and grow beyond provincial and national borders.
